A furry forecast
Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil woke up on Sunday morning, but did not see his shadow. The furry Pennsylvanian, with the help of his friends from the Inner Circle, predicts an early spring during the 134th annual Groundhog Day festivities on February 2, 2020 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
Since Phil’s weather-predicting career began in 1887, records show he has seen his shadow 104 times and has failed to see it on a mere 20 instances. That makes this year’s prediction relatively rare and marks the first time Phil hasn’t seen his shadow two years in a row.
Start up your lawn mower and break out those flip-flops because spring is coming early according to Phil.
