Senior Tye Whitledge will play football at Franklin College in the fall.

Tye Whitledge is a senior at Gibson Southern. He has spent all of his high school years playing football and played a major role in the team’s success.

Southerner: What’s your favorite memory from Titan football?

Whitledge: “Winning state.”

Southerner: What’s your post high school plans?

Whitledge: “Go to college to play football for Franklin College.” 

Southerner: In football, what’s been some of your hardest challenges? 

Whitledge: “Coming back from an injury. Having to gain all the strength back and having to use it again.” 

Southerner: What do you like to do in your spare time?

Whitledge: “I lift weights.”

Southerner: If you were on death row, what would be your last meal?

Whitledge: “Four double hamburgers and a large fry with a Mountain Dew to drink.” 

Southerner: What are your thoughts on the large, ecstatic student sections this year?

Whitledge: “They were pretty good – got the team going.” 

Southerner: What’s your favorite movie of all time? 

Whitledge: “The Sandlot.” 

Southerner: What advice do you have for the underclassmen who look up to you? 

Whitledge: “Work hard and don’t ever give up on your dreams.”
