Norris: “I love to read, sports, have my grandchildren over and be able to see them. My top one is being able to see and watch my grandchildren.”
Southerner: In your free time, what do you like to do?
Norris: “About the same as my hobbies, I guess. I love to sleep, too.”

Norris: “Probably chocolate. Well you know, I like butter-pecan.”
Southerner: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Norris: “I’d probably like to go to Hawaii just because. I don’t have any reason, but I’ve never been there.”
Southerner: What is a unique talent you have?
Norris: “I try to be the most caring and understanding person I possibly can, but that is not really unique. I can see the best in people, or at least I try.”
Southerner: What is a big world problem that you would like to change?
Norris: “Probably the problem with drugs. I don’t want to say just younger people but older people have this problem, too. I guess the teaching and being around teenagers, I just don’t want them to get into bad stuff.”
Southerner: How would your friends or a relative describe you?
Norris: “I don’t know. I try to be as helpful as I possibly can. If they need anything, they know I’ll try to do my best at that.”
Southerner: Who is someone in your family that you look up to?
Norris: “My dad for sure. Well, my mom and dad. My dad passed away 25 years ago and still, every single day, I think of him, and there are things that I tell my classes and my girls that have to do with him. So yes, most definitely my dad.”
Southerner: If you weren’t a teacher what would you be?

Southerner: What is a favorite memory you have?
Norris: “Well, probably being able to see my grandbabies being born. I have three, but there was one I didn’t get to see born because of COVID. But, with the other two, I was right in there, and I could see.”
Southerner: If you could give advice to a student what would it be?
Norris: “Be your own person. Don’t feel like you need to fall in and do what other people are doing just because, and just be the best you can be. There’s always something you’re good at; it just might take a bit to find it.”
Southerner: Would you rather go to the beach or go camping?
Norris: “Oh gosh, the beach, just because it’s relaxing, and I like to listen to the waves. Just being able to sit on the beach when the waves were coming in.”
