Behind the scenes of Vaudeville 2023: Hee Haw

Everyone sees what is on the stage but so much more happens behind the curtain

This year was the 50th Season of Vaudeville. The theme was based on the old country variety show that aired in the 1960s, “Hee Haw.” The cast and crew found an amazing way to incorporate the talents at Gibson Southern to turn them into a show filled with fun, suspense and talent. The cast started rehearsing in mid-November to perfect and work on the show until it was time to take it to the stage.

Josalyn Turner is a junior at Gibson Southern High School. This is her third year on “The Southerner” staff as a photographer and her second as Photography Editor. She loves to play her guitar and piano, bake, read and listen to music. She loves to watch or listen to many Broadway musicals, her favorite being “Hadestown”, in the her free time. She has been a part of Gibson Southern Theatre Department and Sunshine Society for the past three years. She is also a member of the International Thespian Society Troupe #5623.
