Though the movies and theme parks made by the Disney franchise have bright colors and are commonly seen being enjoyed by young kids and children, that does not mean that is where it has to stop.
Taking a look at the movies made by Disney, they may be bright and colorful to be intriguing to children, but if you stop and watch them yourself, you may be pleasantly surprised. You will see a film made with immense detail, hard topics and beautiful cinematography using animation and real actors to make a story come to life.
For example, looking at the film “Bolt,” a movie about an actor dog getting lost from his actress human and finding out what the real world is about, seems like a movie children would consume, right? Taking a closer look at the film, we see an animal find friends along the way who help him and show him what being a real dog is like. We see this dog go through heartbreak, loss, maturation and learn lessons that some adults struggle with learning: family is not always blood, some people who you may think to have the best interest for you in mind may be someone who you cannot always trust and more. This is all in one movie supposedly only made for children to enjoy.
Along with the movies made by Disney, there are also multiple theme parks around the world. These parks could not be so popular if it was not for adults going and spending their money on tickets and all the extra activities. Yes, some adults only do it for their small children, but many adults enjoy seeing their older children embrace the magic felt when at the Disney parks.
Taking a look at one of the most popular Disney theme parks, Disneyland Resort, there are many attractions there that not many young children can enjoy. For example, in Disney’s California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, there are multiple rides that are fast and intense, which most young children may not enjoy. Many young children cannot even ride the rides due to the height requirements. One ride worth noting is the Incredicoster found in Disney’s California Adventure Park. Reaching up to 55 miles an hour, including a launch portion, an upside down portion and large drops along the way, riders must be at least four feet tall to ride the attraction.
Keeping all of this in mind, it is impossible to ignore the magic people feel being at these parks and watching these films. When you step foot onto a Disney theme park or watch a Disney movie, you get to feel like a kid again. That magical experience is made for everyone regardless of age. You can have fun and leave the real world responsibilities behind. The magical experience can be shared with both children, and those who remain kids at heart.
