Tesfenesh Weber is a 15-year-old freshman at Gibson Southern High School. Weber attended elementary school at Holy Cross Catholic Church and School. She then moved and attended middle school at Fort Branch Community School. Weber has many passions and is always keeping herself busy in and outside of school. As a freshman, she is part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Sunshine Society.

Southerner: What are your favorite hobbies?
Tes: “My favorite hobbies are soccer, music and swimming.”
Southerner: What do you like to do outside of school?
Tes: “I enjoy going outside and swinging in my swing.”
Southerner: What sports do you play?
Tes: “I play soccer, and I’ve played for seven years. I also play lacrosse, which I’ve been playing for three [years].”
Southerner: Do you spend a lot of your time on sports?
Tes: “I spend a bit of my time on my sports everyday after school.”
Southerner: Have you enjoyed your freshman year?
Tes: “Yes, because I have my friends.”
Southerner: Have you volunteered in the community?
Tes: “I help in a youth group that goes places such as nursing homes and more.”
Southerner: What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekend?
Tes: “My favorite thing to do is catch up on anything I have to do.”
Southerner: What motivates you to get through high school?
Tes: “I’m motivated by knowing that I have other people that go through the same stuff I go through, like having a bunch of tests in one day.”
Southerner: What are you thankful for?
Tes: “I am thankful for my family and friends because I’m close with them.”
Southerner: What do you like most about school?
Tes: “I enjoy switching classes.”
Southerner: Who do you admire in your life and why?
Tes: “I admire my grandma because she’s very independent and a strong woman.”
Southerner: Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it?
Tes: “Everyone, including my friends, call me ‘Tessyfaneshy,’ and I have no clue why they call me that.”
