It’s currently May 14, 2024, less than a week of school left.
I remember thinking in eighth grade how far 2024 felt. How long it would be until I graduate, and now it’s only a couple weeks away.
The class of 2024 started its journey as freshmen a little bit differently than any other year. We started during COVID and were hybrid for most of the year. Freshman year was when my friend group formed for the whole rest of my high school experience, and I’d never change a thing.
Newspaper class has been a huge part of my upperclassmen days. Being in there with my friends and writing stories has been a blast and just having the newspaper room has a safe and quiet place to study or just get stuff done was really nice. I thank Grigsby for letting me in the class and being a very understanding teacher.
A big part of my high school experience has been the sports aspect. Having coaches like Nick Hart, Brian Snow, Matt Obert, Mark Rohrer, Rachael Hileman and many many more have really made a huge impact on my life. I appreciate all of them have done for me and what they saw in me as a player and a person.
I also want to thank all my favorite teachers: Kyle Runyan, Michael Priar, Jared Grigsby, Kyle Brasher, Ian Gamroth, Diane Nurrenbern, Valerie Zimmer, Angela Cooper, Jane Toth, Pat Bengart and Kyle Debord. I know I just named off a lot of teachers, but I feel as if all of these teachers really cared about teaching me whatever it was at the time, and I really appreciate that and what they all do.
I really enjoyed my time at Gibson Southern, and I hope one day I will have kids attending the school as well.
