Sophomore Tenley Beloat

Tenley Beloat is a sophomore at Gibson Southern High School. She is a part of the International Thespian Society, the Sunshine Society, one of the leaders for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students for Life, Titan Up and is on the Dance Team. Beloat takes part in competitive dance and also does school cheer. She has danced for 13 years and plans to continue doing it.

Southerner: If you were an animal which one would you be and why?

Beloat: “If I could be any animal, I would be a hedgehog because they are really tiny and adorable, and they can protect themselves.”

Southerner: If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?

Beloat: “A fashion trend I want to bring back is wearing leather; it’s a very chic look and can be used in so many ways.”

Southerner: If you had to delete all but three apps from your smartphone, which ones would you keep?

Beloat: “Three apps I would keep would be Messages, Instagram and Photos.”

Southerner: What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?

Beloat: “The weirdest food I’ve ever eaten is frog legs.”

Southerner: What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Beloat: “The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is, ‘Just breathe, you are doing amazing.’”

Southerner: If you could magically become fluent in any language, what would it be and why?

Beloat: “I would love to become fluent in French! It is such a beautiful language, and I love the way it sounds.”

Southerner:  What is your favorite time of the day?

Beloat: “My favorite time of the day has to be early in the morning before I leave for school, but it’s so much better when it’s still kind of dark out but clear and the sunrise is happening and it’s cool, not cold, but not blasting hot, just cool.” 

Southerner: What skill do you think everyone should have?

Beloat: “A skill I think everyone should have is time management. I know I struggle with this, so if everyone had this skill, so many things would be planned out so much better.”

Southerner: What is your favorite thing to do by yourself?

Beloat: “My favorite thing to do by myself is dance.”

Southerner: What two things do you consider yourself to be very good at?

Beloat: “I consider myself to be good at dancing and creating stories. I have always loved making up stories and writing them down. I love dancing, and I have been doing it for forever, so I consider myself good at it.”

Southerner: What two things do you consider yourself to be very bad at?

Beloat: “I consider myself to be very bad at deciding things and staying on task. I am a very indecisive person, and if you know me, you know I cannot stay on task, and I always get distracted by something.”
