Sophomore Josalyn Turner

Josalyn Turner, Photography Editor

Josalyn Turner is a sophomore at Gibson Southern High School. This is her second year on “The Southerner” staff as a photographer and her first as Photography Editor. She loves to play her guitar and ukulele, bake, read and listen to music. She loves to watch or listen to many Broadway musicals in the her free time and traveling to different states and cities. She is also a member of the International Thespian Society Troupe #5623.

Junior Brielle Armstrong, senior Halle Pohl and sophomore Tali Maurer were a hit with their cover of Taylor Swifts Tim McGraw in Vaudeville Hee Haw. Halle Pohl is the one who came up with the act Tim McGraw, and she came up to me and Brielle Armstrong to ask us if we could sing with her, Maurer said. We rehearsed for about a month and it took us that time to get the act down good. We put it together like right before auditions. Actually, the first time we performed it together was the audition.

Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Jill Vieira was selected as the inaugural Staff Member of the Month by The Southerner Online editorial board. Vieira was nominated by five students. She always makes everyone feel welcome, and she is a trusted advisor to me, senior Claire Wisnoski wrote. She is always open to listen and help in any way she can. She also makes sure everyone understands what is being taught, and if they need help, she will provide it.
