Lady Titans beat Tell City on senior night

The Lady Titans faced the Tell City Lady Marksmen in the senior’s final home game.
The girls started off the game hot, going on a 10-0 run, and they were showing no signs of slowing down. Seniors Maci Foster and Meredith Raley led the team in points in the quarter, both with 3. The Ladies’ defense was also a big factor and only held the Lady Marksmen to 4 points in the first quarter. At the end of the first, the girls were up 16-4.
“Coach B told us to keep the hammer down and put them into the ground,” Foster said.
Junior Kamryn Miller and senior Claire Jones torched the Lady Markmens. Both had 9 points in the quarter with Claire going 3 for 3 and Kamryn banging out a 3 as well.
The Lady Titan defense had the same intensity as it started off with. They only allowed 7 points in the 2nd quarter. By the end of the first half, the score had reached 45-13.
The Lady Titan defense started to slack as they let up 16 points in the 3rd quarter, but it wasn’t of any consequence because the Lady Titans were already up by many points. Raley led the team in points that quarter. At the end of the quarter the score was 64-29. The Lady Titans were absolutely crushing the Lady Marksmen.
When the 4th quarter rolled around, Brasher put the JV players in to keep the varsity players from getting hurt. Sophomore Loren Stoll scored her first ever varsity points in this game. This brought an end to the year and senior night, as the Titans stomped all over the Lady Marksmen with a score of 71-34.
“Words can’t describe how much I will miss these girls and what they meant to this team,” Brasher said. “I won’t just miss them on the court, I will miss them in the classroom and seeing them in the hallways. They brought so many intangibles.”
The Lady Titans will face the Lady Tigers of Memorial on Tuesday to open up the Sectionals.
