The Lady Titans took on the Southridge Lady Raiders on senior night, which for the 6 Lady Titans who will be graduating this May, was their last home game.
The seniors consist of Maci Foster, Brooke Goedde, Claire Jones, Meredith Raley, Shay Whitten, and the manager Emma Greene.
After many hugs and a couple shed tears, the game began. The Raiders came out strong, going up 4-0 over the Lady Titans.
The score stayed this way for a couple minutes through the first quarter, until the Lady Titans found their groove. They went on a 13-0 run with 2 threes from Jones.
The first quarter came to an end with the Titans leading the Lady Raiders 16-6.
“It was a slow first quarter, but we got into our game as the first quarter went along,” head coach Kyle Brasher said.
The Lady Raiders played a better second quarter on the defensive end, holding the Titans to only 10 points.
The girls held the Lady Raiders to 8 second quarter points. This helped them hold a 12 point lead going into halftime, with a score of 26-14.
“It was a tough first half but as bad as we played, we still had a double digit lead,” Goedde said.
The whole second half was still sloppy, but ultimately the Lady Titans came through and prevailed 45-32 over the Lady Raiders.
The ladies improved 17-3 and will host the Lady Marksmen of Tell City on Thursday, January 30th.
