Emma Schleter is a junior at Gibson Southern High School. She is part of the Sunshine Society, band and is a member of the International Thespian Society Troupe #5623. She works at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari during the summer. She plans to go to college for optometry. Schleter has been in Vaudeville for two years, as well as in “Footloose.”

Southerner: What is a childhood memory that makes you happy?
Schleter: “So, when I was little, when it snowed, my great aunt always would have me and my brother go out and collect snow, and she would make it into what she called ‘snow ice cream,’ and it was really good.”
Southerner: How do you handle criticism, and do you use it for personal growth?
Schleter: “No, I just get a little sad.”
Southerner: What do you think the purpose of life is?
Schleter: “I guess to have fun and do what you want.”
Southerner: What is something you always dreamed of doing but were too scared to do?
Schleter: “I have always wanted to drive.”
Southerner: What drives you to get up every morning?
Schleter: “I guess, like my future; I need to get up, so I can not be a bum for the rest of my life.”

Southerner: What do you do to try to feel calm when something goes wrong?
Schleter: “I just like to play with something in my hands, like hair ties, and it always seems to work.”
Southerner: What was your dream job when you were little?
Schleter: “I really wanted to be an astronaut.”
Southerner: What is your guilty pleasure?
Schleter: “I love watching mukbangs.”
Southerner: If you could fix one of the world’s biggest problems, what would it be?
Schleter: “World hunger because we have the resources, so why should people be going hungry when others have far too much to even eat?”
Southerner: If you could have dinner with anyone, who’s one person you’d go with?
Schleter: “I have always wanted to eat dinner with Abraham Lincoln because I look up to him.”
